About Prautogy

Steve Santucci and Phil Blottie had been partners for over a decade, running a very successful aftermarket auto parts company in Sacramento, California. To survive in such a competitive market, they were constantly coming up with new products to stay ahead of the pack. In late 2008, at a car show in the San Francisco Bay Area, discussion began on a handheld controller for air suspension in custom cars and trucks. The goal was to create a device that could wirelessly control the vehicle’s suspension system, as well as report back the air pressures in each corner. After tossing around several designs, the early drafts began to look strangely similar to Apple’s iPhone. That’s when it happened.

"What if we could just use the iPhone to control the vehicle?” they thought. Rather than try to reinvent the wheel, utilizing the iPhone’s beautiful touch screen interface and built-in Bluetooth to wirelessly communicate with the user’s car seemed like a perfect match. Prautogy was established in the early 2009 in El Dorado Hills, California, with the HALO at the core of the product line. After countless hours of development and design, the HALO system debuted on August 20th, 2009, at the Good Guys West Coast Nationals. Taking the idea several steps beyond that original suspension controller, HALO is a complete vehicle integration system that pairs with the iPhone, providing control over vehicle systems ranging from door locks and headlights to engine starting and car alarm functions!

Today, development continues on the HALO system – new ideas for expansion modules and further communications come up every day! Prautogy is committed to bringing automotive smart phone convergence to new heights, where users may interact with every system within a vehicle, monitoring location, security, and even engine diagnostics- all through a device that is easy and fun to use and live with on a daily basis.
